Practicing Compassionate Listening Skills:
Talking Courageously About Israel/Palestine
Saturday, June 22 & Sunday, June 23, 3:00 - 5:30 p.m.
The Good Work Institute - 65 St. James St., Kingston, NY $60.00 – no one turned away for lack of funds
In this time of war, discussions about Israel/Palestine can become emotional, heated and polarized, straining relationships and dividing communities. In this workshop you will learn several Core Practices of The Compassionate Listening Project and approaches to dialogue that can transform the energy of conflict into opportunities for deeper understanding, even with people whose views differ from your own. You will track your triggering, cultivate your Fair Witness, explore the Drama Triangle and Circle of Empowerment, express your feelings and deepest values and listen respectfully and with curiosity to those of others. In this safe setting, we will workshop specific ways to shift unproductive conversations into opportunities to listen and speak from the heart about this urgent and challenging situation.
