S’lichot translates to “forgiveness” and the service ushers in the upcoming Days of Awe that begins on Erev Rosh Hashanah. The music and poetry will be soulful, joyful, contemplative, and passionate. Help us all by making yourself part of this sacred tradition.

Emergency Scene & CPR/AED Training - Registration Requested
Presented by the Woodstock Fire & Rescue Department
Following a recommendation from Evan Holland, a member of Temple Israel of Catskill and the Woodstock Fire & Rescue Department (WFD), we have purchased an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
This portable medical device will hang in the Temple Israel entry foyer and be immediately available to help someone having sudden cardiac arrest—before our Greene County paramedics, EMTs, or other medical technicians are on the scene.
Gina Gifford, the WFD EMT, will lead a 2-hour American Red Cross training session, with assistance from Temple Israel members Dr. Arnie Goran and Evan Holland, to teach congregants:
How to perform cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
How to use the AED to restore a normal heartbeat
Assessing an emergency scene
Tips in contracting 911
Lunch will be provided and there will be ample time for Q&A. Please email House@templeisraelofcatskill.org to register for this event so that we know how many will be there for lunch.
There is no charge for this training session; however, donations are appreciated to support the WFD and to offset the purchase of the AED.
