The Violet Industry in the Hudson Valley
Steven Mann, speaker
Between 1890 and 1920, the Hudson Valley was home to over 400 greenhouses filled with violets. More than 5,000 stems were picked each day, bundled and shipped to Boston, Philadelphia and even Chicago. Our own historian Steven Mann will be speaking about this local phenomenon after the 12:30 luncheon.
